if i were you i would crop more of the darkness out and pick somting more interesting that you are looking at out side the window.

my idea was to try and get a suddle change from the dark to the window, so the more darkness, the more suddelty. also, i was aiming for an interesting object to be outside the window. i was trying to get color and texture to contrast the rest of the photo.

Maybe putting the window AWAY from the dead center of the image would have more of this subtle (this is how it's spelled) change from dark to the window.

get a point of focus other than your yard, like eastcoastskier said, and the angle is too straight-on and boring.

Kind of cliche frame picture, but it works.

suddle and subtle are two different words... are they not? anyway, it's a little too much black. but i see what you are trying to do, because the curtains are dark, but the window makes them grayish so it sort of transitions into the color.

thanks for the feedback. i'm going to crap the black areas down and move the window off center and get a differnt frame. i'll post it later.
