Races from the local arena up a steep, paved hill, followed my carrying your bike on your back up a mountain, pushing it across a slight incline I have no idea long, then riding it down a downhill section, followed by a flat-out road race to the college on the other side of town. First place person did it in 47 minutes.
I used first curtain sync with my lens at 28mm so I took the photo, and then the blur is of the rider coming towards the camera and the wide-angle distortion taking over.
I want to try this technique again when I get my flash.
meh, it is ok. Honestly I don't think it is that great. It is blurry not just becuase of the wide angle, but becuase the shutter speed is too long. Perhaps it would be cooler with a slower moving object comming directly at the camera, like a car in a parking lot, a person walking, etc. Oh yeah, and make sure the camera is 100% steady too. Nice progression.
^ haha... thanks tips. Obviously wide angle isn't going to make an image blurry. I intentionally set my shutter speed at approx 1/2 a second and used the flash to freeze the subject while leaving everything else blurry.
