Pat took this jump to about 65 feet (the landing is below him, that snowboarder is like 90 feet away down there). He was doing either a cork 3 or 5, landed halfway between them, and all the impact of him stopping dead broke his 5th lumbar vertebrae and send pieces of bone into his spinal column. Most of us were landing 40 feet down, he was flying into this.<br />
He doesn't need surgery and is not paralyzed or anything, but his season is pretty shot. Pray for his recovery.
