painting from nate abbot pic

first time using oils, i tried to fix the brightness of the pic but it ended up making it look worse. its a lot better in real life. still no abek.

heres some advice, though i dont professw to be any great painter....use layers in the background, paint it all the darkest green you will use, then build up from that. and take the time to step back from your work and look at it from 15 or 20 feet away, so that you can make sure that it has enough contrast. i really like this one, but it does not have enough contrast.
