I don’t mean to pick in you but I’ve noticed this trend more and more over the last few years- people landing with one ski tipped up, with only the tail on the snow, usually with some over-rotation of the upper body. I don’t remember people landing like this in the 2000s but maybe we were all so sketchy we were landing in even worse positions! Anyone else been noticing this as well or is my coach’s eye being too critical?
haha good eye i only noticed i did that once in the first clip. I think I only really started doing that on these skis cause there so flexy. If u look though whenever I land switch that doesn't happen. I'm also a coach to but I coach freeride skiing so I'm not into the fundamentals as much as ski racers I just care about having fun and making sure my kids are too.
yeah it is a forward-landing phenomenon mostly. i coach a kid who had this same tendency. he was a skater as well and he hypothesized that the body positioning was a result of the mechanics of doing certain tricks carrying over to his skiing.
