just wanted to say that i used your tips for throwing 3 and threw it a little bit harder and kept on looking over my shoulder and i stomped a 5 first try. when I started trying to throw it harder I would land on the noses like your buddy solid tip and perfect timing before i head to the hill!. Btw Jake can you give some feedback on the Dimes, how do they ride and flex directly compared to the talismans?
Hey man! Thanks so much for the feedback, I really do appreciate it. Glad you were able to land your first 540, must have been such a good feeling; I still remember the first 540 I ever landed.
As far as skis go, I had the Talismans for about one full season and really got used to them and I really liked how they rode. Once I got a pair of the dimes though I quickly fell in love with their agility in the park. They are geared more towards the park than all mountain because they are full symmetric and full camber which means they have a quicker reaction time and smaller turning radius, as well as they ride the same switch because the ski is full symmetric. They also have a 91mm underfoot opposed to the Talisman which has 96mm. This, I think made the biggest difference for me and is why I like the Dimes so much. They are still a little bigger than some standard park skis like the fischer nightsticks which are 86mm underfoot. (I felt those were too small especially in the spring because it was hard to go through the slush). The dimes having a 91mm underfoot is perfect. They are a little stiffer than the talisman which I also enjoy more but that is more of a personal preference. I hope that helped
Yah brotha, I threw left 5 then was like alright right 3 now I'm wanting to get right 5 and switch left 5 but I get to about 460 and wash it around or pre spin and lose a ski on switch take off lol.
As for the talismans I loved how they rode all mtn. Do you struggle in any of the off groomers or crud with the dime considering it lost its early rise?. You mentioned the night sticks and those are much to stiff for my liking will I be disappointed with the dimes flex pattern? Loved the talismans flex just a little too soft at times. Been talking to bill about them and you're the only one besides Ian that ive seen riding em.
Thats sick!!! couldn't be happier that you are throwing every thing left and right. That makes a huge difference and you will be happy you did it.
And for the skis, no I do not notice any of lost early rise. and they are softer than the nightsticks. They are stiffer than the talismans though and a little tiny bit less buttery. I like them much better coming into and popping off jumps exactly for that reason though. I am hoping to spend my whole season competing on them. I might break the Talismans back out int he spring but for now the Dimes are my skis!
