although you are correct about almost all of the new hi speed lifts that have the detatchable chairs that release the cable as they pic you up and catch back on and take you away. there are still oldschool lifts that dont do that and can revers, verry slowly of coarse. there arent to many of those left but out east at small resorts they are the main type. i cant say what type of lift this guy is on but i saw this on yahoo news like over a year ago haha its sure funny shit
This was liftie error...it was a windy day and the seat had flipped up, the lifties didnt see that and let the chair swing around, the guys wife and duaghter hopped out of the way, he was trying to get his son out of the way but couldnt in time and his pants got tangled, as you can see. it had nothing to do with "The liftie not being able to run the lift in reverse." it was safest to evac him from where he was. The person who took this pic was a sharpshooter for the mountain and got fired for releasing this pic. the guy got a free seasons pass.
