you are correct! alpine and squaw were both closed, wind hold at squaw (not surprising) and there was an avalanche that covered the alpine road, so our options were limited, and it will be a cold day in hell before i go to n* on a powder day

They had 80 closed that day, but we were set on getting up from Reno somehow so we drove up to the checkpoint and they were like "do you work in truckee?" and we said no but that we were bent on getting to tahoe, and the guy was like "um, you look pretty well prepared, just don't tell anyone I let you pass. That day was epic because there were so few people.
