NOT necessiserry you hvae a long exposer but then you wave your hand and or a peice of paper aka somethign solid in front of the lense then when it passes and then comes back BOOOOOMMMMMMM youv got an image froozen then it starts to blur again.
sick shot. most likely just has a long exposure and has a slave flash right by the jump that someone makes go off 1/2 way or is set that way. or not even, maybe there is another photographer there with a flash and this photographer knows it will flash at some point during thier exposure.
yes, it's a long exposure with a flash that freezes the skier. the flash is positioned to the right of the photog, with almost the same perspective on the skier, so it's probably a slave... it's way bright too. you can tell by looking at how the light falls on the skier and the lip of the jump. That's an impressive shot
