when you're in your optimal flight position, your skis are parralell or even slightly negative to the horizontal...if your tip goes down a bit...you do that!!
you gotta see the footage of jeff hamilton's crash when he set the world speed skiing record at 151 mph (which has since been beaten by a french guy at like 156), and then set another rcord when he crossed the finish line and FELL at 151 MPH and slid 700 yards in like 4 seconds, burning parts of his speed suit to his flesh. somehow he broke nothing and was basically ok, except for the pieces of speed suit stuck to him. it's brutal
