The actual photo isn't this dark, I put a blurred layer on top of the original and set the blend mode to soft light to give it a higher contrast look. There were two other people in the shot as well (towing in), so I figured since they were just ghosts from what flash picked up on them, I may as well just remove them.
I think I actually have a shot almost the same as this one but with no other people in the shot.
Also, the light is from the side (check the shadow on ground from the rail. I don't know what happened with the rider why it looks like there's direct lighting on him.
I'll have to try a longer exposure next time, if, by then, I don't have my cable. 4 seconds should be good to get nice & close compared to the 2 seconds I used before.
Because I had a 2nd curtain sync fire from the on-camera flash for fill and to try and get the rider landing so it shows they landed it. It's pretty hard to see in this version, but in the original it's pretty clear.
