North Korea is opressive communists, their economy is not nearly as stable as south Korea. The country is run by one party basically unopposed (totalitarian) run by Kim Jong-il (Think America: World Police).

I don't know for sure, but I assume that North Korea has no skiing of any sort. Most Koreans outside you meet are from South Korea.
