Nah it is stenciled. I have tried two different materials for my stencils, firt I used some mailla folders which worked reasonably well. Then I got this idea of using contact paper, it works pretty well for larger stuff (not so much small tricky stuff). It sticks to the tshirt unlike a manilla cardboard (so can get cleaner edges) but isn't so sticky that it is hard to get off... I used acrylic paint with a textile medium, 50:50.
It looks a lot smoother in that picture but it still came out pretty sweet.
