Lé.Skiing Dec 31, 1969 i had stept on this light bulb but everything was still intact so i tahught hey why not plugged in the lamp grabbed my camera turned it on and took a pic, this flame lasted for a good 3 seconds before it burnt out.

Lé.Skiing Dec 31, 1969 you are correct, its not air thats in the bulb its some sort of gas that allows it to burn the filiment to brn extra slow for extended life.
