cuz i was about 30 feet from the bottom of the quarry wall where it gets instantly flat.. kinda spot you want to slow down a bit befor you hit, and it was late in the day in a spot that had been exposed to the sun for quite a while on a +5C day.. so the snow on the flank wasen't so mutch soft and fluffy as it was heavy and water-logged, basically just trying to slow my speed and avoid double leg breakedge.. and what do you know, it worked and i got to climb back up and give it another try.. i make a habi of not charging to hard on my first run of the day... might call it survival-instinct...
