they had some extra cash from donations towards the construction worker that accidentally was poured in with the cement while making the pool, so they decided to make a commemorative but nonfunctional diving board platform. duh.

the hotel was made make in the like 30's and i think it was a diving board then, but made it so it wasnt now cause its too dangerous, its only 8 feet deep... never got yelled at either, jumped off it about 10 times
