So yeah it's sad that I had never been to the ocean before this...but I saw the sign and thought it was funny. Maybe people just don't care. Yeah two people died three days before further down the island from the rip current...I wasn't about to go in
Is that the kind of current that pulls you under the water? Or is it the kind that pulls you out into the ocean? A kid I knew died a couple weeks ago from an undercurrent in this creek I'd tube down, scary though because I'd never swam out to where he was, but at that place you get sucked under and can't get out.
steep beaches and heavy waves are serious shit... i almost ate it once.... had been recovering from surgery for about 5 months... went on vacation and barely made it out alive on my first day in the waves... the beach was really steep and i had the air knocked out of me a couple times barely made it out, got lucky enough to drag myself out completely exhausted and out of shape from surgery. drowning was just plain sucking and would have sucked even more.
