CaSkiGod my teacher in high school prreached to me about christianty one time and I asked him the same question and he said 'yes'. but he also said be careful because you never know when your gonna die
once the world gives up its religions is when the peace will reign. we are all drops of water in a big lake, and religions so often contradict themselves and other religions. i reccomend a healthy dose of magic mushrooms for you.
Smuggs....I agree with you to an extent...man's interpretation of religion has caused untold conflict...eg the Arab/Isreali conflict in the Middle east..both sides belive they are doing the 'will of God'
However, atheism and a complete secular society does not work, and never has worked...look at the old USSR...they tried to build a completly secular society and it crumbled miserably.
Religion is the basis for morals, and as such, it is the building block of any stable society. without religion its 'everyone do whatever you think is right' and thats dangerous thing.
But religion itself is not the answer..its about a personal relationship with God..not following a particular sect or set of rules..just realizing that there is soemone out there bigger than we as humans are and realizing that we are responsible to Him.
In John chap 3 verse 16 Jesus says...'For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son that whoever belives in Him will never perish but have eternal life' That I belive, is true peace, a reason for living, and a buiding block for a good set of morals
I apologise if I seem to be preaching..Im no saint or religious fanatic, just a guy like everyone else...but everyone on here was giving their opinions so I figured id give mine too.
CanadianSkiGod, yes that would work, thought Ice-is-scary brought up a very good point. You could be gone five minutes after reading this when you're driving to the store.
And skifree919, the only thing required of christians to get into heaven is a personal relatinoship with God. Once you have that there is nothing that can keep you out (aside from denouncing God as God). The catch is that you need to mean it with all your heart in order for it to work.
