why is the water and background so sharp but the whale so pixilated- i'm noy calling photoshop, i'm just asking a simple question

the whole thing is croped, i didnt take the picture, my friend did with his digital camera. He croped it. the water looks pritty pixilated too, but i see what you mean

The whale is moving a lot faster than the water is, and ti IS a humpback whale... In other words, its skin isn't all smooth and perfect. I dunno, there's no way that's photoshopped.

yah, it is a humpback, but they dont look all grainy, more roundish bumps, and those arent all over their body
