Wow so many opportunities here. First off everyone that I am about to call out on this is wrong. Challenge me...I beg of you to do so, because you will be proven wrong. Tinkerbell let's start off with you. The only reason why MissMichigan took a shot at Elasmo was because Elasmo fired off multiple shots first. Take my word on it. I was sitting there for the whole conversation through private messages...you weren't. Point proven. There is no arguement to this..none...whatsoever. Also she was not flaunting...she posted a picture of herself. If she was flaunting she would have posted a title that said 'I am hot' or something along those lines. MissMichigan did not criticize anyone at anytime, until they criticized her. She merely defended herself and then gave back in return, what some chose to give her, which was a bunch of shit. I feel no pity for any of those that came on here and criticized Miss Michigan only on the basis of her looks and who the photo was with, now that is shallow and immature. So please point out the people that you claim are less conceited and more mature and I will show you a pig that can drive. And just so you know Tinkerbell it is 'friends and I' not remedial elementary grammar such as your suggestion of 'friends and me.' Now BooKitty its your turn. Just because a person was at the Playboy Mansion does not mean they were doing 'who knows what with who knows who.' Get over it. The mansion is not a porn fest. Hef is so concerned about each woman's personal saftey that they are all provided with security when they go out to keep the pervs away. I will again reiterate that the Playboy Mansion is not a whore house. Yes Hef does have 7 girlfriends...however, MissMichigan is not one of them. And any of you that criticize Hef for having multiple girlfriends, go ahead and do so, but that doesn't make him a pervert, and that doesn't mean that people do 'who knows what with who knows who' at the mansion. Now for my last few comments. Many people tore into MissMichigan immediately and only based their judgements on her looks. People immediately assumed that she is shallow and rude. She is not. I know her far better than any of you asses ever will. If you want to view me as shallow go ahead. But I can tell you that she certainly is not. The only shallow people on here are those that made judgements about her based only upon her looks and her accomplishments such as her Miss Michigan title. There were qutie a few people that did were non judgemental and said some cool shit, my props to them. Those of you that doubt her skiing ability...don't. She is an excellent skier. To top if off a few years ago she had an accident where she broke 29 bones in her body. She had a titanium rod put in her leg and was instructed not to participate in activities such as skiing, she also has a blown acl, but still gets out on the hill on a regular basis. And who cares if she skis on P50s or 4Frnts (*cough* skaski *cough*), people will ski on what they want to ski on. Well my rant is done
Yikes! Too long of an essay to rebut, but I do want to point out a few items.
1)Tinkerbell is correct. It should be “Friends and me…” A good trick for figuring out whether or not to use “I” or “me” is to remove the other subjects in the sentence. For example: when the other subjects (her friends) are removed, MissMichigan’s incorrect sentence would read “I in LA at a club called…” Obviously this is incorrect – it should be “me”. Actually, the rest of the sentence is grammatically incorrect as well, but we won’t get in to that…
2)Flaunting: Yes, she is flaunting. She has a very healthy self-esteem and that’s absolutely fine – in fact it’s great. I think the issue is that this is a very athletic-centered crowd of people who are turned off by the beauty queen thing. We like our girls to be make-up free and bad-ass skier chicks. Maybe she is a bad-ass skier chick, but you can’t tell through all the get-up.
3)Playboy Mansion: The Mansion is not a convent; of course indiscretions go on there. Again, the issue with the Playboy Mansion goes back to the people on this site. For the most part, we were all raised to trade on our skills (skiing), not our looks. I, like many, would never permit my daughter (no matter how old she was) to lodge at the Playboy Mansion.
MissMichigan, I’m sure you’re a very nice girl. Start posting some skiing pics and chatting on the ski gabber site and we’ll all get along beautifully.
I am sure there are girls out there that do wear makeup when they ski. Who the fuck cares? Does it hurt you or your sking ability? Everyone rags on me about it, but have you seen bigsky_gurl? She wears just as much, and nobody rags on her about. And every picture she has posted (4 to date) has been of only herself. Do you rag on her about her skiing abilities? I actaully give her props for her look (sexy for a ski chick). And as for my screen name, it's a screen name for God's sakes. Get over it! Do you have to read into someone's screen name that much? (By the way, if we are into knowing about screen names, what's with Tinkerbell anyway? Do you like Peter Pan?)
And as for being raised, I was raised on using all aspects of my 'trades' to get ahead in life. Whether it by my looks, athletic ability, Master's degree, or experience in my career. If it works for you, run with it!
