I'm still so stunned. In one sense, "wow cool" in another I kinda have that dream vision of winter Olympics being in these really interesting alpine regions around the world, especially when I think of growing up and where the various host countries were. In some ways to me this feels a bit of "we had to do it" not "we want to do it" as far as hosting goes.
China proving to the world that there really is a way to waste so much water in a desolate valley for an olympics with the title of something this place doesn’t see naturally. Like watching the olympics from hell. At least the snow isn’t melting like it was in Sochi.
Honestly that’s a pretty fire backdrop, like that would legit go so hard in an edit. I understand why it’s a shitty gesture and lazily thought out but I’ve always kind of liked (stricty in a visual sense) that industrial/brutalist aesthetic of factories and manufacturing sites
bruh idk why but it just occurred to me that basically all of the snow at the Winter Olympics is fake this year like I just haven't watched any events and didn't think about it. Why the fuck is it in China, human rights issues aside
