ahh i went there in june last year. was kicking my self so hard for not bringing skis when i saw skin tracks on a mountain. definitely need to return earlier in the spring sometime.
This was in Ólafsfjörður, a little fishing village west of Akureyri. We ran into a local who worked at Viking Heli Skiing in Ólafsfjörður, they were able to rent us some skis. May is the prime time for skiing.
