freedy and schwags - drones have their perks for certain things, but a cable cam is the standard for the high end industry for specific reasons
affordable drones (phantom) dont have gimbles on the camera so you can't get that up and down pan and a side to side can be difficult. Also some places do not allow you to fly drones.
you can set exposure, different lenses, and zoom... all things that you sacrifice with a gopro at times. carry larger camera loads as well. Octocopters are no easy task to fly like a small 4 prop phantom.
^Very well explained, although you can get 3 axis gimbals for the phantom. The quality of the new on Inspire 1, while not as great as REDs or other bigger cameras, still looks superb IMO.
