Casual: you are absolutely wrong in your assessment. If he had looked up, before traversing out into the slope, he would NOT have seen the skier. The skier, as you mentioned was above a blind rollover ("cliff"). It is the responsibility of the uphill skier to ensure the downhill side of a blind rollover is clear before proceeding. He should have had a spotter, and he did not. If a patroller had seen that incident, Sam likely would have lost his pass for a period of time as a result of his reckless behavior. To those that were participating, next time, have a spotter, idiots. Someone could have been killed. Get a clue.
