Almost Live - Callum Pettit: Dislocated Shoulder - Episode 17

This week's almost live joins Callum Pettit, Seth Morrison, Sammy Carlson and Kye Peterson at Last Frontier Heliskiing in Ripley Creek, British Columbia. Pettit takes a huge crash during one of his runs and is forced to take a break from skiing and pay a visit to the hospital. As Seth notes, "He sent it off a piece of ice and we didn't see him come out from it." With Sammy adding, "He came on the radio and you could just tell instantly something wasn't good."
everyone should learn how to put a shoulder back in, the quicker it goes back in, the less damage is done. if you are on your own, the easiest way to get it back in is to sit down and use both your hands to grab the knee opposite the popped shoulder. push your knee outwards to extend your bad arm and breath deeply to relax your muscles as you rotate your knee in a circular motion - which causes your arm to move in a circular motion. keep this up and let your body loosen and your shoulder should slide back into the socket. if you are with other people and this does not work, get someone to stand behind you and cup both hands under and around your bad shoulder armpit and pull your shoulder backwards. someone else should grab your fully extended arm and pull it forward parallel to the ground and rotate it in slow steady circles.
