Rail assembly

Just designing a rail on solidworks for some jibing this winter

why on EARTH would you use a program as complex as solidworks to do something so simple.... Try sketch-up or even auto-cad for christs sake. terrible "assembly" as well... sorry to be mean, I just dont want you being dumb for the rest of your life
 
really? im pretty sure that the assembly is pretty strong considering that I already built and at my college we only use solidworks because they found us so i get it for free. i mean considering im at one of the 10 best engineering schools in the nation im pretty sure it will be fine....thanks though
 
What are the dimension of this? It look like you use one inch large peice of wood to make your base or is it becose the rail's like 20 feet long? And cutting wood with angles like the ones you have many time's gonna be a pain in the ass, using 45 degree angles's usualy easier
 
nope this is just the first section it only ten because thats the largest piece of pvc i could steal. i would use 45 but with a 30, 60, 90 i can set this is a snow bank and use it as a mini wall ride with the pvc as a stall point all the wood are 2x4 with a quick plywood top sheet
