I got up at 4:45 to go an a dawn patrol tour of Berthoud Pass. It was well worth it.
-Avi Danger is High. This picture was taken on a SW aspect in the trees- the absolute safest place in the northern CO backcountry right now. We witnessed large crowns breaking and running for hundreds of vertical feet across the drainage on E to NE aspects both just below treeline and at treeline. Know what you are doing if you go out and stay safe.
