Broken ligtbulb flame

i had stept on this light bulb but everything was still intact so i tahught hey why not plugged in the lamp grabbed my camera turned it on and took a pic, this flame lasted for a good 3 seconds before it burnt out.

so if the glass is shattered the filiment will just catch on fire?

you are correct, its not air thats in the bulb its some sort of gas that allows it to burn the filiment to brn extra slow for extended life.

do you think there is a danger of blowing a fuse or soemthing in my house. I really want to try that.

no i'm not afraid, its just liek lighting a lightbulb... just try not touching the filiment, it might burn you or give you electricshock therepy
